Mrs. Frank Steinkamp Passes Away Thursday
Mrs. Frank (Emma) Steinkamp, 66, Arcadia, died September
24, 1964 at 2:50 p.m. at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll, where
she had been admitted earlier in the day.
Requiem Mass was read at 9:30 a.m. Monday by Rev.
C. Ahman in St. John's Church in Arcadia. Internment was in the
parish cemetery.
Mrs. Steinkamp was born December 15, 1897 at Ashton,
a daughter of David and Anna Meinen Damm. She came to Carroll County
at the age of 3 years and received her education at St. Bernard's
School, Breda. Her marriage to Frank Steinkamp was solemnized at
St. Bernard Church on May 24, 1916 with the Rev. Bernard Loefelholz
officiating. For the past 35 years she has lived one and one-half
miles west of Arcadia. She was a member of St. John's Church, the
Christian Mothers Sodality and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors are two sons, Melvin and Lorne Steinkamp
of Arcadia, four daughters, Mrs. Herold (Leota) Eich, Ogden, Mrs.
Rollin (Cleone) Evers, Cedar Falls, Mrs. Wilfred (Virginia) Wernimont,
Cumberland and Mrs. Larry (Neva) Stoffers of Orange, California,
20 grand children, 2 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are four brothers, Clarence, Leo, Lawrence
Damm and Joe Meinen and two sisters, Mrs. Lawrence Bruning and Mrs.
Tony Ludwig.
She was preceded in death by her husband in
1950 and two sons, Merlin in 1957 and Raymond in 1959.
