Harold A. Eich 1925-2007

OGDEN— Harold A. Eich, 82, died of a stroke Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007, at Boone County Hospital in Boone.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at St. John Catholic Church in Ogden.

Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery at Ogden with military honors by the Boone Veterans Council.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. and a vigil will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Central Iowa or St. John Catholic Church.

A son of William and Anna (Naber) Eich, he was born Feb 9, 1925, at Templeton.

He and Leota Steinkamp were married Nov. 3, 1953, at St. John Catholic Church in Arcadia.

Survivors include his wife, Leota; five children: Randy Eich and wife Michele of Ogden, Terry Eich and wife Jenny of Overland Park, Kan., Kristy Whigham and husband Lyle of Phoenix, Ariz., Mary Jensen and husband Jeff of West Des Moines and Paula Olson and husband Randy of West Des Moines; 12 grandchildren; a brother, Glen Eich, and his wife, Ester, of Omaha, Neb.; and a sister Helen Textor, of Carroll.

Mr. Eich was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Leonard and Lester Eich; a sister, Lucille Eich; and a granddaughter Caroline Whigham.
