Mrs. Ed Hoebing Passes Away Sunday — Sudden Heart Attack Proves Fatal to Long-Time Resident

The sudden death of Mrs. Ed Hoebing, 55, which occurred at 8:45 Sunday evening, July 17, greatly shocked her family and many friends and acquaintances in Okarche.

Mr. and Mrs. Hoebing were entertaining a group of friends on the lawn of their home when a sudden heart attack proved fatal. She received medical aide and was rushed to the Okarche Hospital where all efforts to revive her were unsuccessful.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30 am Friday, July 22 in the Holy Trinity Church with Father Boesmann officiating at the Requiem Mass. Interment will be made in the Holy Trinity Cemetery.

Mary Lenz Hoebing was born Nov. 22, 1893 to the late Nicholas & Ann Lenz at Alex, AR, and came to Oklahoma in 1910. She was married to Ed Hoebing in August 1911. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Altar Society, The Catholic Daughters, the VFW, and the Gold Star Mothers.

Survivors include the husband and three sons, Eugene of San Bernardino, California, Ancel and Victor Hoebing of the farm home, and two daughters, Rachel and Coletta Hoebing also of the home.

One son, Virgil, preceded her in death in World War II in 1946 and one daughter died in infancy. She also leaves two brothers and one sister, Martin Lenz of Shawnee and Frank Lenz and Mrs. Lizzie Turner of Okarche.

Relatives Called Here for Hoebing Funeral

Mrs. Ben Schettler, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Schettler and Mrs. Ray Gross of Breda, IA and Mrs. Frances Bosold of Early, IA and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Moser of Coraopolis, PA, came Tuesday evening being called here by the death of Mrs. Ed Hoebing whose funeral will be held at 8:30 Friday a.m. in Holy Trinity Church.
