Max J. Reising 1881-1952

Max J. Reising, 70, retired farmer, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Anthony hospital, Carroll, after a 10-day illness.

Funeral services were at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bernard's church. A solemn high mass was offered with Rev. Fr. Norbert Boes, nephew of the deceased as celebrant; F. J.P. Hausmann, deacon; Fr. F. Brady, sub-deacon, and Fr. Philip Dailey as master of ceremonies.

Daughters and sons are; Mrs. William S. (Amelia) Becker, Breda; Andrew Reising, Wesley; Gregory Reising, Mapleton; the Very Rev. Zeno Reising, pastor of the Catholic church at Alton; Lawrence Reising, Breda; Conrad Reising, Breda; Mrs. Wilmer (Rosina) O'Tool, Carroll; Mrs. Jerry (Leona) Eischeid, Guthrie Center, and Mrs. Walter (Bernice) Pudenz, Rockwell City.

The Very Rev. Zeno Reising is now on a pilgrimage to Rome. He left May 4 from New York with a group of priests from the Sioux City diocese. After attending the Eucharistic Congress at Barcelona, Spain, they went to Rome.

Mr. Reising was preceded in death by one son, Alvin; one brother, Louis Reising; one sister, Mrs. Louis (Mary) Woerdehoff; a half-brother, William Geier, and two half-sisters, Mrs. John Boes and Emma Geier.

He was married to Clara Boes Nov. 17, 1903, at St. Bernard's church by the Rev. G.H. Luehrsmann.
