Todd Allen Overgaard 1964-2010

Hendersonville, N.C.—Todd Allan Overgaard, 46, of Hendersonville, N.C., died Thursday, June 24, 2010, at the Elizabeth House after a 3-year battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease.

A celebration of life ceremony with military rites was 6 p.m. Monday, June 28, 2010, at Mud Creek Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mud Creek Baptist Church or the Elizabeth House. 

Forest Lawn Mortuary in Hendersonville, N.C. is in charge of the arrangements.

A son of Allan Kent and Janet (Thelen) Overgaard, he was born in Carroll. He previously lived in Cromwell, Conn.; Greenville, S.C. and Charlotte, S.C. He spent his childhood years in Pleasant Lake, Ind. He graduated from Hendersonville High School in 1982, and attended Catawba Valley Community College, where he earned his associate degree in applied sciences with honors. He served in the U.S. Army 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment in the 82nd Airborne Division from 1984 to 1987. He worked with the PGA Tour at Piper Glen TPC, River Highlands TPC and Regent Park golf courses.

He attended Mud Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Cindy (Fugate) Overgaard; a son, Andrew M. Overgaard; sisters: Brenda (Overgaard) Wheelon and Traci Overgaard-English of Hendersonville, N.C. his mother-in-law, Judy Fugate of Easley, S.C.; sisters-in-law: Pam May and husband Kevin of Easley, S.C. and Kim Fletcher and husband Scott of Murphy, N.C.; and a grandmother-in-law, Gertrude Fugate of Waynesville, N.C.
