This photo was taken in August 1941, just prior
to Arthur's departure for the Philippines. It was taken in front
yard of the Ben Nieland Farm and shows the new chicken house in
the background. Ben also had three daughters: Florence, Irene, Jolene and Charlotte.
Arthur died September 7th 1944, after being taken prisoner by the Japanese in the Philippine Islands during WW II and was awarded a purple heart medal. More....
