Richard Pappe III was the son of Richard Pappe Jr. and Esther Kirby and the grandson of Richard Pappe Sr. and Louise Kornrumpf. He was born and raised in Kingfisher, OK, and later lived in Alaska and California before returning to Oklahoma. He and his wife, Florence Teichroew raised three daughters.
